Product Introduction

Drying Tower Equipment is a commonly used drying equipment, whose main function is to dry materials with high humidity through heating, ventilation and other methods, in order to reduce humidity and improve quality. According to different drying principles and application fields, drying tower equipment can be divided into several types (listed below). This High Efficiency Drying Tower is based on the spray drying principle, which is the fastest way to convert a liquid feed into a free-flowing powder.

Drying principle: After filtering and heating, the air enters the air distributor on top of the drying tower; the hot air enters the tower in a spiral form and is distributed uniformly. The material liquid passes through the high-speed centrifugal atomizer on top of the tower, rotates, and is sprayed into extremely fine mist droplets. Within the very short contact time with the heating air, the material is dried into the final product. The finished powder is discharged continuously from the bottom of the drying tower and from the cyclone separator.

Because the evaporation takes place in seconds, spray drying is suitable for heat-sensitive products: while the moisture evaporates, the droplet temperature stays close to the wet-bulb temperature of the air, so the product is not overheated. The design covers hot air distribution, atomizer speed, inlet and outlet air temperature, dwell time and powder collection, and a fluidized bed or secondary drying stage can be added when agglomerated or free-flowing powders are required.

According to different drying principles and application fields, drying tower equipment can be divided into the following types:

• Airflow (flash) drying tower — mainly used for drying granular and powdered materials, completing the drying process through the flow of hot air.
• Rotary drying tower — mainly used for drying powder and granular materials, completing the drying process through the heating effect of the rotating cylinder and hot air.
• Spray drying tower — mainly used to dry liquid materials; the liquid is atomized into small particles through a spray and the drying process is completed by the heating of hot air.
• Fluidized bed (powder making) drying tower — mainly used for drying granular and powdery materials; through the flow of airflow the material continuously flows in the bed layer, thus completing the drying process.
• Vacuum drying tower — mainly used for drying materials that are prone to oxidation, flammability and explosion; by reducing the pressure the boiling point of the material is lowered to complete the drying process.

Tower diameter and height, evaporation capacity, atomizer type and speed, air heating source, powder collection system, material and surface finish are customized according to the feed properties, the required particle size and the site conditions.
