Exhaust Gas Purification And Absorption Tower is an industrial absorption tower used to purify and treat waste gas in industrial production processes. The exhaust gas is brought into contact with a scrubbing liquid so that acid gases, ammonia, dust and water-soluble organics are absorbed, neutralized or captured, and the purified gas leaves the tower through a mist eliminator.

The characteristics of Industrial Absorption Tower include simple structure, convenient operation, high purification efficiency and wide applicability. The scrubbing chemistry is selected for the pollutant: alkaline solution (NaOH, Ca(OH)2 or Na2CO3) for acid gases such as SO2, HCl and HF; dilute acid (for example H2SO4) for ammonia; and water for water-soluble organics and odour. Because one tower may have to resist both alkaline and acid liquors, the shell and internals are supplied in FRP, PP, PVDF, S31603 or duplex stainless steel, and a multi-stage tower is used when pollutants that would otherwise react with each other, such as acid gas and ammonia, have to be removed in the same unit. pH control of the scrubbing liquid keeps the absorption efficiency stable.

The tower is mainly used for purifying and treating waste gas in industrial production processes. Specific uses include:

• Flue gas desulfurization — removal of sulfur dioxide (SO2) from flue gas in industrial processes such as coal combustion and the petrochemical industry, in order to meet environmental emission standards.
