This distillation tower integrates advanced separation technology, strict quality control and optimized structural design, and is mainly used for the fractionation of crude oil and petroleum intermediates, realizing the efficient separation of components with different boiling points (volatility) into high-purity products such as gasoline, kerosene, diesel, heavy oil and asphalt. It is widely applied in large, medium and small-sized petroleum refineries, petrochemical plants and related downstream processing enterprises, providing reliable equipment support for the stable, safe and efficient operation of the petroleum fractionation process, and playing an irreplaceable role in promoting the high-quality development of the petroleum refining industry.
The GB150 standard strictly defines the design pressure, temperature, material performance and structural strength of pressure vessels: the applicable design pressure for steel vessels is not more than 35 MPa, and the standard has been comprehensively updated in terms of material specifications, structural calculation methods, non-destructive testing and overpressure relief device requirements . Specifically, the standard adds categories of pressure vessel failure modes, updates the method for determining cylinder stress under axial compression, and adjusts the technical specifications of overpressure relief devices; in terms of materials, it deletes 1 type of low-alloy steel and adds 9 new types of low-alloy steel and 20 new types of high-alloy steel, while revising the regulations on the use of steel pipes to improve material adaptability and safety .
The material selection of the distillation tower is strictly based on the harsh working environment of petroleum fractionation-high temperature (operating temperature up to 385ºC), high pressure, strong corrosion (containing sulfur compounds, naphthenic acid and other corrosive media) and continuous operation requirements. The tower body shell is mainly made of high-quality carbon steel, low-alloy steel or high-alloy steel: for the atmospheric distillation tower, carbon steel and low-alloy steel are selected to balance cost and performance; for the vacuum distillation tower and the parts in contact with corrosive media (such as the top condensation system and naphthenic acid corrosion area), 316L stainless steel or duplex steel (2205) is selected to enhance corrosion resistance . The internal components (tower plates, packing, liquid distributors, etc.) are made of acid-resistant, high-temperature-resistant and wear-resistant materials: the tower plates adopt floating valve tower plates with large operating flexibility (30%-120%) and high mass transfer efficiency, which are suitable for the main tower and side-line stripping tower of atmospheric distillation.
The internal components of the distillation tower are optimized and designed to maximize the fractionation efficiency and operational stability, which is an important embodiment of the combination of GB150 standard requirements and petroleum fractionation process needs . The tower is equipped with a high-precision liquid distributor at the top and between the packing layers, which can realize uniform spraying of the reflux liquid, ensure that each part of the packing or tower plate is fully wetted, avoid the "channeling" phenomenon (liquid flowing along the tower wall without full contact with the packing), and improve the mass transfer efficiency . For the packing tower, a packing support grid and a liquid redistributor are installed: the packing support grid supports the packing layer and ensures the uniform rise of vapor; the liquid redistributor is set every 3-5 meters of packing to correct liquid drift and further improve the separation efficiency .
