Today's introduction is to one of the evaporators, the falling film evaporator.

The structure of the falling film evaporator is approximately the same as that of the rising film evaporator, with the liquid being added from the top. Because of the liquid distribution device at the top, each tube can receive liquid evenly.The secondary steam and the concentrate generally flow down together, and due to the action of the secondary steam, the liquid flows in a film-like pattern along the wall of the tube.The downward flow of the liquid film uses gravity instead of overcoming it, thus allowing the evaporation of more viscous solutions. The heating tube length/diameter ratio L/d = 100-250 and the total heat transfer coefficient is 1200-3400 W (m²*K). In general, this kind of evaporator's material liquid can evaporate completely from top to bottom through once, if once can't reach the concentration index, also can use pump to circulate the material liquid for evaporation.

The working principle of falling film evaporators:

Falling film evaporation is the material liquid from falling film evaporator heating room on the tube box to join, through the liquid distribution and film-forming device, uniform distribution to each heat exchanger, in gravity and vacuum induced and airflow under the action, into a uniform film from top to bottom flow. In the process of flowing, it is heated and vaporized by the shell process heating medium, and the steam produced enters the separation chamber of the evaporator together with the liquid phase, and the gas and liquid are fully separated, and the steam enters the Condenser to condense (single effect operation) or enters the next effect evaporator as heating medium, thus realizing multi-effect operation, and the liquid phase is discharged from the separation chamber.
